World Cancer Day, observed on February 4th, annually, is the global uniting initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). By raising worldwide awareness, improving education, advocating for research and catalyzing personal, collective and government action, we all work together to reimagine a world where millions of preventable cancer deaths are saved and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all – no matter who you are or where you live.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u00a0World Cancer Day’s theme, \u201cClose the Care\u202fGap\u201d, is \u202fall\u202fabout\u202fraising awareness of the gaps in equity and barriers in income, education, geographical location, and discrimination based on where one is born, grows, ages, learns, works or lives, that negatively affects anyone in seek of cancer care, in high, low- and middle-income countries alike.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
