New in JAMA: Expanding Efforts and Support to Respond to HIV and COVID-19

In this opinion piece featured in JAMA, Lawrence Corey, Russell Corbett-Detig, Chris Beyrer write about the exceedingly harmful effects that SARS-CoV-2 variants and HIV has had on the other. The recent history of these intersecting viruses has highlighted the need for more equitable healthcare around the globe.  Expansion of financial resources, increased care services, surveillance, prevention, education, vaccination, treatment, monitoring and attention is critical when managing Covid-19 transmission and infection in vulnerable and underrepresented groups, especially people living with HIV in low and middle income countries, such as Sub-Saharan Africa, the focus of the essay.
