Vaccination induces HIV broadly neutralizing antibody precursors in humans

New off the press by the ACSR’s Dr. Jeffrey Bethony and colleagues from George Washington University, Scripps Research, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, the National Institutes of Health and other institutions in the United States and Sweden.

An experimental HIV vaccine called eOD-GT8 60mer, had a “favorable safety profile” and has been found to elicit immune responses against HIV according to the researchers.

The eOD-GT8 60mer vaccine candidate is germline-targeting, meaning it was designed to induce the production of broadly neutralizing antibodies by targeting and stimulating the right antibody-producing cells.
